Barks & Recreation – Get To Know Us!

Tori: Daycare Attendant

Continuing our series of staff introductions we wanted to sit down with Tori, our newest Daycare Attendant! Tori works and plays with all the pups that come to us for daycare and boarding! Just like every one of our other employees, Tori has been trained in Pet CPR & First Aid and does a great job keeping your dogs safe and happy! We plan on introducing Tori to reception as well – so she’ll be familiar with the whole family!

Q: Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about it!

A: I grew up locally in St. Pete and Seminole. I was home-schooled for most of my education so I spent a lot of time at the local parks. I was a very outdoorsy kind of kid!

Q: What did you want to be growing up?

A: I wanted to be a Veterinarian! I have my vet assisting certificate and someday would like to go back to school to study morturary science.

Q: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.

A: I love exploring nature! I lived in MA for a few years and spent a lot of time on hiking trails!

Q: What is something that’s on your bucket list?

A: I would LOVE to visit Norway and loads of other European countries.

Q: What’s your favorite tv-show, movie, or book?

A: My favorite movie is ‘Alice in Wonderland” although my favorite genre is totally opposite that which is Horror. My favorite TV show is The Office (my husband and I pretty much watch it start to finish over and over again), and my favorite book is House of Leaves!

Q: If you could go anywhere for vacation where would you go and what would you do there?

A: In the United States, I would love to go to Oregon. I would visit Crater Lake National Park and travel down the Oregon Coast Trail!

If I could visit another country it would probably be somewhere in Europe, Greenland, or New Zealand.

Q: Do you have any interesting hobbies?

A: I have a TON hobbies but my favorites are embroidery and sewing! I also love anything of the Macabre variety!

Q: What made you decide to work with animals?

A: I have always had such a soft spot for animals. I’ve always wanted to help those in need and give them the love they deserve!

Q: What is your favorite thing about working with dogs?

A: My favorite thing about working with dogs every day is that even if you have had the worst possible day, these dogs are there with their hearts open and ready to give you unconditional love no matter what!

Q: Do you have any cute or funny stories about a dog at Barks & Rec?

A: We have a French Bulldog that comes almost every day named Brady – whenever he comes in he runs up to me and shoves his little nose in my lap and waits there until i pick up him up! It’s the cutest thing ever!

Q: What are three words you would use to describe Barks & Rec?

A: Barks & Rec is Fun, Rewarding, and Worthwhile!
