Barks & Recreation – Get To Know Us!

Xavier: Daycare Attendant

Continuing our series of staff introductions we wanted to introduce you all to Xavier! Xavier watches over and plays with all the dogs that come to us for daycare and boarding, and she also helps out with reception as well! Just like all of our other staff, Xavier is certified in Pet First Aid & CPR. We are so glad to have such a sweet and silly person as part of our staff!

Q: Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about it!

A: St. Pete! I was a total street rat/tomboy running and riding my bike through the neighborhood with my friends. I was born in Grantspass Oregon though.

Q: What did you want to be growing up?

A: I wanted to train horses. Although I have had several jobs working with dogs before coming to Barks & Rec. I JUST LOVE ANIMALS!!

Q: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.

A: I’m a closet coin collector! Not anything worth much to anyone in my collection except to me. I just find them so fascinating!

Q: Tell us something you have on your “Bucket List”

A: I want to take a nap in all 50 states. I’ve already checked off Florida, Alabama, Michigan, Arizona and California!

Q: What is your favorite movie, TV show, or book?

A: I like all crime shows, real or not. My favorite movies are anything with Keanu Reeves, and my favorite books are the Outlander Series.

Q: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go and what would you do there?

A: Scotland or New Zealand. Scotland because castles! New Zealand because the land is so breath taking!

Q: Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them!

A: I have 4 animals! Starr is my 14 year old Chow/German Shepard/ Cocker Spaniel/ Terrier mix girl, Comet is my 7 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix boy, Garfield is my 9 year old ginger 14 lb fat boy, and our newest addition is our kitten Cali(really she’s my sons) 9 month old tuxedo.

A: All of the unconditional love!

Q: Can you share a cute or funny story about a dog here at Barks & Rec?

Q: What are three words you would use to describe Barks & Rec?

A: Loud, Hairy, and so much FUN!
